TNFJ USA Chapter wrote letter to Prime Minister of Pakistan on Controversial Criminal Law (298-A) Ammendment Bill 2021 to take it back.Letter say's Dear Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Title: Passage of Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill 2021 and its negative effects and dangers for Pakistan I would like to draw your attention to the passage of the Criminal Law (298-A) Amendment Bill 2021 by the National Assembly of Pakistan on Tuesday, January 17, which recommends increasing the penalties for insulting holy figures. We want to make you believe that celebrities completely prohibit insulting Islam and consider it as a cause of sedition, however, the path to be taken to remedy it will increase the fire of sedition due to the following reasons: 1. The logic and reasons advanced in favor of the controversial bill are full of flaws and ambiguities. 2. Through this controversial amendment bill, the way has been opened for the violation of religious freedoms enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan and the unconstitutional restrictions on the beliefs and ideas of Muslim schools, as well as the violation of basic human rights. 3. As a result of the implementation of this amendment bill, the retaliatory actions against the Shia school and other patriotic and peace-loving schools will increase and the freedom of religious and intellectual diversity will end. 4. Extremist thinking will be strengthened in the society and Takfiri groups will get legal cover to promote intolerance and narrow-mindedness in the society. 5.National unity and religious tolerance and harmony will be the main victim of this bill and it will create internal anxiety and instability in the dear country. 6. This bill will prove the dear Pakistan as a narrow-minded, stereotyped and intolerant extremist state at the global level, which Pakistanis living abroad are also worried about. 7.The implementation of this bill will seriously damage the credibility of the government. At a time when the government of Pakistan is trying to overcome the serious economic problems and the monster of extremism and terrorism and improving the image of Pakistan in the world is very important to get the international support that the beloved country desperately needs, Takfiris and the banned Passing and enforcing laws with nefarious objectives of terrorist groups will not be a wise decision in any case. In view of these reasons and national aspirations, Agha Syed Hussain Muqdisi, the head of Tehreek Nifaz e Fiqa eJafaria, has rejected this amendment bill. We assure you that stopping this controversial bill is the most important need of the hour and Pakistan, while this controversial amendment in the Criminal Law (298-A) is not acceptable to the patriotic Pakistanis living at home and abroad, so we request you. To use their capacity and authority to play their role in ending the attempt to amend the law through this controversial bill and to prepare a comprehensive policy by taking all the stakeholders into confidence to remedy the problems like insults.
